Driving Record
The following guidelines shall be required for individuals who
are applying for or who are presently holding a position which requires
the operation of a vehicle on public roads while conducting business
for the City of Hurst.
An individual will not be considered for a position requiring vehicle
operation, or if currently employed, will not be allowed to operate
a vehicle on public roads while conducting business for the City
of Hurst if he/she has:
- Four (4) or more moving traffic violations, and/or three (3)
or more accidents (where the individual is found to be at fault),
or any combination of four (4) of the above recorded against his/her
driver's license by the Department of Public Safety (D.P.S.) during
the preceding 24 month period.*
or
- Six (6) or more moving traffic violations, and/or four (4)
or more accidents (where the individual was found to be at fault),
or any combination of six (6) of the above recorded against his/her
driver's license by the Department of Public Safety during the
preceding 36 month period.*
or
- One (1) D.W.I. or D.U.I.D. conviction during the preceding
24 month period.
*Applicants disqualified for this reason may make written request
for reconsideration. The request must be accompanied by written
evidence clearly demonstrating that the applicant was not at fault
in the accidents.
