Cheers: To the Hurst Animal Services adoption facility and staff for their exemplary care of and dedication to the cats and dogs awaiting adoption. Being brought in by Hurst Animal Services does not mean death sentences to little strays but rather loving stayovers leading to loving homes.

Just wanted to drop you a note to say thank you for allowing us the privilege of adopting precious Buddy. He is so full of life and brings us such joy. Speckles, our mixed breed dog and Buddy are very best friends. They run and play almost as one!
The day Nancy brought me out to your shelter, I was determined not to adopt any dog. As soon as I met Buddy, it was love at first site. When my husband, David met him, the same result.
I will try and send you some pictures when we get our camera working again.
You are your staff are amazing.
Thanks for making our lives brighter!

A HERO'S LIFE - Accident during training exercise claims honored canine member of rescue team
'Kinsey came from a Metroplex shelter. She was a certified Type I-Advanced Disaster Dog, one of seven dogs trained at that level in Texas and one of fewer than 150 in the country.
As a working search-and-rescue dog, Kinsey made two trips each month to Disaster City, a training facility at Texas A&M University where emergency responders can practice working on rubble piles, collapsible buildings and a mock-up of train wreckage. Just before noon, Kinsey was climbing on a structure that simulated a "pancaked" building, where the floors have collapsed on top of each other. She tried to jump across a 3-foot gap as she had done many times before and lost her footing. The fall broke her back. Veterinarians told Bob Deeds that even with surgery, Kinsey was not going to recover, so she was put down.' [excerpt from article]

"I want you to know just how much I appreciate your compassion and kindness shown to "Sterling" and myself. It was a difficult process for me and your caring made it easier. "Sterling is now in a better place. Probably playing with "Silver" in Doggie Heaven.
God Bless,
