His name was Abner. However, when we adopted him from Hurst Animal Services, he was renamed Winston. I did an internet search for red haired famous people, and Winston Churchill's name immediately popped up. He is an absolute delight.
All of you at the City of Hurst Animal Services are much appreciated. I have shared with many people how wonderful your facility is, and will continue to do so. Thank you so very much for being there for our lost and homeless four-legged critters.
And thank you for giving these two beautiful kittens I brought in this morning a second chance in life.

Jim D. Wallace (1938 - 2011)
"The Penguinman", as we lovingly referred to him, came every week to visit with the animals and staff at the Hurst Animal Shelter. He would spend hours with us and the animals, bringing treats for the animals and the staff. He will be dearly missed, but will forever live in our hearts.
Thanks for everything you did for the animals and us, Jim.

Dear Staff,
This last weekend marked the one month anniversary adoption of our Honey who was given the name of Brazos by the Shelter. Without reservation, she has been a blessing and was perfect during the transition of adjusting to her new home. Honey has the run of the house and backyard as well as my home based office. She loves her big back yard and has never had an accident in the house. She is very happy and appreciative for everything she receives. Honey plays gently and looks forward to the visits by my daughter's cavalier. My two grandsons (4 and 7) spent Friday Night with us and Honey camped out with them in their room.
I have loved all of my pets over the years and tried to give them the best of care and the safest environment in which to spend the remainder of their lives. Thanks for all that you do and saving Honey for us. As a 40 year resident of Hurst, we are very proud of this City and the professional which is exemplified by the staff at Animal Services.
