The Hurst Public Library Expansion Project was approved by Hurst citizens in the 2005 Bond Election (Prop 3), and approved by the City Council in early 2010. The expansion adds approximately 10,174 square feet to the Library, renovates 7,626 squaqre feet of existing interior space, transforms the landscaping that surrounds the building, and more than doubles existing parking. The information on this page is updated regularly by Library Staff as updates to the timeline and plans for this project are received.

The New Public Restrooms
Stall partitions, toilets, and sink counters are in place in the new public restrooms. |

New Offices
The wall frames are up in the new Comunity Services Office, and drywall installation has begun. |

New Roof for the Library
New roofing was installed on the Library, over both new and existing areas of the building. |

Large Program Room
The multi-leveled ceilings of the Large Program Room have been installed. |

Small Program Room
Decorative panels and lighting, a feature that will be found throughout the new areas of the Library, were installed in the Small Program. |

New Entrance
The sliding doors for the new Library entrance were installed, opening up to the expansive new Community Gallery Hall. |
