Hurst Senior Citizens Activities Center
The new Hurst Senior Citizens Activities Center, located at the Heritage Village Plaza, 847 West Pipeline Road is now open. We offer many “Open” Activities, including Open Games, Open Billiards, and Open Fitness. These activities are called “Open” because they do not require pre-registration, admission, etc. Seniors just show up and have fun!. (General information brochure.)
With the exception of Thursday Night Dances and "Open Classes", sign-up in advance is required for classes, programs and special events in order to provide enough seating, supplies, and/or refreshments. Sign-ups begin on the first business day of each month at 9:00 am at the Senior Center.

Recognizing a Stroke
Do you know how to recognize a stroke? If you think someone has had a stroke remember the first 3 letters of the word STRoke. S = Ask the person to smile. T = Ask the person to talk (coherently). R = Ask the person to raise their arms.
You can also ask the victim to stick out their tongue. If it twists to one side or the other, that is also an indication of a stroke. If he / she has difficulty with any of these tasks, call 9-1-1 immediately.
