The
Utility Billing Division is responsible for maintaining the Utility
Billing system for water, wastewater, sanitation, and recycling
services. The City maintains over 12,000 active accounts, which
are billed on a monthly basis. The City contracts with Allied Waste
Services for collection of garbage and recycling, and provides consolidated
billing for these services with the customer's water and wastewater
bills.
All new accounts must be setup at City Hall.

Water Bill Payments Made Easier
The City of Hurst is working with Fidelity Express to help make your life easier by creating simple options for water bill payment. Coming in January 2012, XPress Pay will allow those without access to a computer or checking account to pay their water bills at local grocery stores, convenience stores and gas stations by cash, check or money order. Six convenient retailers located throughout the city will offer this service for a small transaction fee. The stores will not have access to your information, so be sure to bring your water bill stub when paying. If your water is scheduled to be turned off or is already off, it is your responsibility to contact the City of Hurst with a valid proof of payment number for reconnection after making a full payment.

Beginning August 29, 2011 and continuing until further notice, residents and businesses cannot irrigate lawns more than twice per week based on the following schedule:
- Monday - No irrigation is allowed

- Wednesday & Saturday - Residential addresses ending in 0, 2, 4, 6 or 8 may water
- Thursday & Sunday - Residential addresses ending in 1, 3, 5, 7 or 9 may water
- No irrigation may occur between 10 a.m. and 6 p.m. on any day
Property owners are also required to properly maintain their sprinkler systems and make sure they are not wasting water because sprinkler heads are broken, leaking or spraying in the wrong direction.
Additional Stage 1 restrictions include, no hosing of driveways, sidewalks, patios, etc. The washing of vehicles in driveways may only be done with a handheld bucket or hose equipped with a shutoff nozzle for quick rinses. Foundations may be watered up to two hours on any day using a handheld hose, soaker hose or drip irrigation system placed within 24-inches of the foundation that does not produce a spray of water on the ground.
The cooperation and support of all water customers is critical to preserving our water supply and minimizing future water shortages. Violations could result in citations and fines of up to $2,000.
