Police Activity League
Camp
Every summer, the Hurst Police Department Community Services sponsored a PALS camp (Police Activities League). PALS is a summer camp designed for school age children and aims at building self-esteem and confidence in area youth. The camp also focuses on building positive relationships with police officers and teaching skills such as anger management and coping with peer pressure.
In 2009, 60 children participated in PALS. This free program offers daily activities, field trips, etc. for children ages 10 to 12.
