Forged Checks Instructions for Merchants

Merchants that have an Insufficient Funds Check returned to them from the bank, should contact the Tarrant County District Attorney's Office at www.tarrantda.com/hotchecks.htm or 645 Grapevine Hwy. Suite 7, (817) 884-1603.

A merchant that has a check that is identified as fraudulent, either by Account Holder or Bank, should:

1. Place the original check in an envelope, and handle it as little as possible.
2. Complete the Merchant's Forged Check Information Form (you may fill this out online and print it), listing the person accepting the check, approving the check, any suspect/suspect vehicle information that you have and the details (date and time of receiving the check).
3. Contact the Hurst Police Department to turn in the check(s) and to complete a Merchant's Forged Check Form.
