Alarm Permit Information
All businesses operating
or causing to operate an alarm system within the City of Hurst are required to
obtain an alarm permit.
On November 23, 2004, the Hurst City Council approved the following changes to Hurst
Ordinance, Chapter 12, Article VI.
- Renew permit annually before January 15th, instead of bi-annually
- Annual permit fee of $75
- False alarm charges:
- Free - Alarms 1 - 3
- $50 - Alarms 4 - 5
- $75 - Alarms 6 - 7
- $100 - Alarms 8 +
- Businesses having a "hold-up" alarm system must obtain a separate permit for an additional fee of $75.
For your convenience, an alarm
permit application (pdf) and a copy of the City
Alarm Ordinance 1934 (pdf) and Ordinance 2076 (pdf) is available online. You may
print the alarm permit, fill it out and return it to the Hurst Police Department. Be sure and check the appropriate box at the top of the form: new, renewal or changes. The Hurst Police
Department recommends you as a business owner/operator familiarize
yourself and other alarm users with the ordinance.
If you have any questions or need further assistance, please call
the Alarm Permit Officer at (817)788-7146.
