The Hurst Police Department is a nationally accredited law enforcement
agency, providing 24-hour response to the needs of the community.
The two divisions within the Department, Administrative Services
and Operational Services, provide numerous specialized public safety
services to the citizens of Hurst. The Department is a diverse
community-based agency offering modern, professional, and courteous
service to the citizens of Hurst and the Northeast Tarrant County
area. The mission of the
Hurst Police Department is to provide exceptional service
to its citizens and employees through a problem-solving approach,
emphasizing a commitment to Excellence Through Teamwork.
Grant Awarded to Hurst Police Department
The Hurst Police Department has been awarded a STEP Grant by the Texas Department of Transportation. The grant provides funding for officers overtime to enforce speed and alcohol related driving offenses. Grant funded enforcement focuses on areas with a low percentage of speed compliance and a high percentage of accidents and DWI arrests.

Red Light Photo Enforcement Program
The City of Hurst’s Red Light Photo Enforcement Program was launched November 1, 2008. The following locations are equipped with the photo-based systems: southbound Loop 820 Access Road and Glenview Drive and eastbound SH 121 Access Road and Precinct Line Road, and northbound and southbound Precinct Line Road where it intersects with Bedford-Euless Road. Online Crime Reports
CrimeReports.com provides law enforcement agencies with an easy-to-use web-based service for sharing of crime data with the public, in near real-time. Citizens can then access their neighborhood crime information for free. Crime incidents are categorized into 15 general crime types and 21 subcategories of crime and calls for service activity to include such things as assaults, burglaries, disturbances, and more. Traffic Accident Reports Available Online
The Hurst Police Department has now made traffic accident reports available through the internet. This is now our preferred method of report distribution. If you need a copy of an accident report please click here. From our report search page, you will be able to search for your report, view it and print it. We currently charge a fee of $6.00 for copies of accident reports. You can pay for your reports through this secure site with a credit card or you may contact PoliceReports.US at 800 489-0190 to see if you qualify for a prepaid account.
