Wastewater Division
The Wastewater Division is responsible for protecting the environment
and the health and welfare of the citizens of Hurst by providing
sufficient wastewater collection services. This is accomplished
by minimizing wastewater system interruptions, maintaining and improving
the integrity of the infrastructure, and monitoring the wastewater
quality entering the collection system to insure compliance with
all applicable regulations governing the discharge of wastewater.
During the fiscal year 2006 - 2007, the Wastewater Division has continued
to monitor the Industrial Users and Commercial accounts for abnormal
and/or prohibited discharges. The repair, replacement, and rehabilitation
of the collection system infrastructure and the performance of preventive
maintenance have helped to improve the integrity of the system and
limit interruptions. Upgraded equipment and maintenance practices
allows the Wastewater Division to comply with the rules and regulations
