Vivagene Copeland Park
Vivagene Copeland Park is located in Southeast Hurst at 501 Pecan
Drive. Established in 1993 as Bellaire North Park, it was renamed to honor Ms. Vivagene Copeland, a former City Council member. Ms. Copeland served on the Hurst City Council for 10 years, from 1991 to 2001, until she retired. She was instrumental in the development of Bellaire Park North when she noticed that the children in the Park's neighboring apartment complexes had nowhere to run and play. Ms. Copeland worked hard to ensure that there were adequate and safe facilities in that part of Hurst for children, as well as families, to enjoy.
Vivagene Copeland Park sits on 5.2 acres and is located adjacent to Bellaire Park which provides
and additional 6.4 acres of park land. Combined the two parks offer
space for organized sports, playground areas, a jogging/walking
trail system, and a pavilion available for rent. Both Vivagene Copeland Park and Bellaire Park are open daily from 6 a.m. - 10 p.m.
Vivagene Copeland Park has 1 pavilion for rental to the public. The
pavilion holds approximately 35-40 people and comes equiped with
3 picnic tables. All pavilions are under the jurisdiction of the Hurst
Parks and Recreation Department and may be reserved on a space available
basis by individuals, organizations, and churches for a fee of $35.00
per pavilion. All reservations must be made in person
at the Recreation Department office during regular business hours
(Monday/Wednesday/Friday, 8:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m and Tuesday/Thursday from 8:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m.). For further information on renting a pavilion,
