The City Manager of Hurst is Allan Weegar. Mr. Weegar has been City Manager of Hurst since 1997 and has been with the City for over 25 years serving in various administrative capacities. He was hired as Assistant to the City Manager in 1981 and was promoted to Assistant City Manager of Administration in September 1984 where he managed the departments of development and economic development, code enforcement, administrative services, equipment service, fleet services, central services, and facility maintenance.

Mr. Weegar started his career as a juvenile probation officer for Tarrant County after receiving both a Bachelor of Science degree in Psychology/Sociology and a Masters Degree in Public Administration from Texas Christian University in Fort Worth.
